Reelroad
"Well known in Russia and virtually unknown in the United States, the Russian-Celtic orchestra Reelroad play and sing Russian traditional music and songs in postfolk style. They use traditional Celtic and Russian instruments- -bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, fiddle, zhaleika, bombard, Celtic harp--alongside more modern instruments, such as the bass guitar and a full drum set."
"While the group Reelroad draws its musical forms and inspiration from Russian folk music, their rhythms are modern and identifiable. The group's drive and power impress everyone. In addition to playing music, Reelroad presents Russian folk dance classes at the concert so everyone may experience this form of performance art."
